Sample wines at one of these wineries in the North Carolina mountains and foothills, near Asheville! Create your own winery tour for a fun afternoon. Talk to the winemakers and stroll through the vineyards. Many have special events including live music. Most are closed in January for a winter break and adjust hours throughout the year, so check before you visit.

The Belle Nicho Winery is located midway between South Creek and Silver Fork, near Morganton. They grow small quantities of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.  Their vineyard uses only organic products and solar power. 525 Patton Valley Drive, Nebo, NC. Open Friday-Sunday, 12-5 PM.

Hendersonville Wineries
Burntshirt Vineyards, near Chimney Rock in Lake Lure is a state-of-the-art wine production facility in Hendersonville. Their impressive Tasting Room features wines from 100% estate-grown fruit. The high altitude, long, sunny days and cool nights in the Blue Ridge Province of the Appalachian Mountains allow them to grow some European varietals like Grüner Veltliner. 2695 Sugarloaf Road, Hendersonville. Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards
Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards is located in the heart of Hendersonville apple country, the tasting room includes a walnut bar, a spacious area for indoor seating and a patio. They have five acres of grape vines at 2,300 ft. elevation, including several different French varietals, Vidal Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
